Method
Preparation
- Begin by gathering all your ingredients. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) if you're opting to bake the bars for a firmer texture.
Mixing
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond butter, honey, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until smooth.
- Add the rolled oats and chopped figs to the wet mixture. Mix thoroughly. Slowly fold in the chocolate chips so they are evenly distributed throughout.
Baking Preparation
- Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper for easy removal. Spread the mixture evenly in the dish, pressing it down firmly.
Baking (optional)
- If you prefer firmer bars, bake for about 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden. If you want to keep them chewy, you can skip this step and refrigerate them instead.
Cooling and Cutting
- Once baked or if left unbaked, allow the bars to cool completely. Remove from the dish, lift by the parchment paper, and cut into squares.
Serving
- Serve them up at your next family gathering, or savor them all by yourself!
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Bars freeze well; wrap them individually for quick snacks.
