Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk well.
- Add eggs, whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix on medium speed until smooth, scraping down the sides as necessary.
- Carefully stir in the boiling water; the batter will be runny.
Baking
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For gluten-free, substitute all-purpose flour with gluten-free flour. Keep an eye on the cake during the last few minutes of baking to ensure it doesn't overbake.
