Brownie Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Topping Ingredients
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup chocolate for dipping
  • to taste Sprinkles (optional) For added decoration

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Set aside.
  4. Add sugar to the melted butter, mix well, then add the eggs one at a time, stirring after each addition. Finally, add the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour and cocoa mix to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking and Topping
  1. Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  2. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the baking dish.
  3. Top the cooled brownies with sliced strawberries.
  4. Melt the chocolate for dipping in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth.
  5. Dip the sliced strawberries in the melted chocolate and place them on top of the brownies. Optionally, sprinkle with colorful sprinkles.
  6. Cut the brownies into squares and serve.

Notes

For a healthier option, substitute half the butter with applesauce. Allow brownies to cool completely before adding strawberries to avoid melting chocolate.
