Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat and let it cool slightly.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Set aside.
- Add sugar to the melted butter, mix well, then add the eggs one at a time, stirring after each addition. Finally, add the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour and cocoa mix to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking and Topping
- Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the baking dish.
- Top the cooled brownies with sliced strawberries.
- Melt the chocolate for dipping in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth.
- Dip the sliced strawberries in the melted chocolate and place them on top of the brownies. Optionally, sprinkle with colorful sprinkles.
- Cut the brownies into squares and serve.
Notes
For a healthier option, substitute half the butter with applesauce. Allow brownies to cool completely before adding strawberries to avoid melting chocolate.
