Preparation
- Start by pitting your dates if they aren’t already pitted.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, add the dark chocolate chips and heat in 20-second intervals, stirring between until fully melted and smooth.
Assembly
- Holding a date by the end, dip it into the melted chocolate to coat evenly and let excess chocolate drip off.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the dipped date on it. Repeat for all dates.
- Sprinkle sea salt or other toppings onto the chocolate-coated dates while the chocolate is still wet.
Setting and Serving
- Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.
- Serve the chocolate-covered dates and enjoy as they vanish quickly!
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about a week. You can freeze them, layered between parchment paper, and thaw at room temperature before serving.
