  • 20 pieces medium-sized dates (pitted) Ensure they are fresh and plump.
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips (or melted dark chocolate) Can substitute with milk or white chocolate.
  • 1 pinch sea salt Optional, for sprinkling on top.
  • Nuts or toppings of your choice (optional, like crushed pistachios or shredded coconut)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by pitting your dates if they aren’t already pitted.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, add the dark chocolate chips and heat in 20-second intervals, stirring between until fully melted and smooth.
Assembly
  1. Holding a date by the end, dip it into the melted chocolate to coat evenly and let excess chocolate drip off.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the dipped date on it. Repeat for all dates.
  3. Sprinkle sea salt or other toppings onto the chocolate-coated dates while the chocolate is still wet.
Setting and Serving
  1. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.
  2. Serve the chocolate-covered dates and enjoy as they vanish quickly!

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about a week. You can freeze them, layered between parchment paper, and thaw at room temperature before serving.
