Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a standard 9x5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the sour cream until smooth.
Baking
- Slowly add your dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Slice and enjoy once cooled.
Notes
Store leftover cake tightly wrapped or in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Can be frozen for up to three months.
