  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips Ensure they are Halal-compliant.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour if needed.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Allow to cool slightly before mixing.
  • 2 large eggs Ensure they are at room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Stir until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs and the vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Grease a 9-inch pie plate. Pour the dough mixture into the dish and spread evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Allow the pie to cool slightly before slicing.
  3. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container. Can be kept at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerated for about a week. Freezing is an option for up to 2 months.
