Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and butter. Mix until fluffy and smooth.
  3. Add sugar and egg to the mixture, beating until creamy. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them out.
  7. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze in individual bags or containers for up to a month. Reheat in the microwave for 15-20 seconds when ready to enjoy.
