Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Don’t forget to add in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until well combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped cherries.
Baking
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving enough space between each cookie.
- Bake in your preheated oven for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are golden and the centers look slightly underbaked.
- Allow them to cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before indulging.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container. They will stay fresh for up to a week at room temperature or freeze for up to three months.
