Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
- Carefully stir in the boiling water, resulting in a thin batter.
- Divide the batter equally between the prepared cake pans.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Assembly
- Once the cakes are completely cool, drizzle caramel sauce between the layers and on top.
- Sprinkle with roasted peanuts.
- Slice, serve, and enjoy!
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze the cake layers separately for up to three months. Allow to come to room temperature before serving.
