Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy and light, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one by one along with the vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, blending until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips carefully.
Baking
  1. Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  3. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days. For longer storage, freeze baked cookies and reheat in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for 5-7 minutes.
