Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces Ensure chicken is cut small for quick cooking.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Use Halal-certified soy sauce.
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by cutting the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir until combined.
  3. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the sesame oil.
Cooking
  1. Once hot, add the chicken pieces and cook for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and stir to coat. Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and the chicken is cooked through.
Serving
  1. Remove from heat, garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, and serve over rice or noodles.

Notes

Consider using chicken thighs for extra juiciness. For a spicy twist, add chili flakes or bell peppers while cooking. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days or frozen for up to a month.
