Preparation
- Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized cubes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create your marinade.
- Add the chicken cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover and let marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
Skewering and Grilling
- If using vegetables, chop them into similar-sized pieces to the chicken.
- Thread the marinated chicken and vegetables alternately onto the skewers.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Grill the skewers for about 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally until the chicken is cooked through and has a beautiful char.
Serving
- Remove the skewers from the grill and allow them to rest for a few minutes.
- Serve hot, perhaps with some steamed rice or a fresh salad on the side.
Notes
For substitutions, chicken thighs can be used instead of chicken breast for juicier results. For a vegetarian option, use firm tofu. Marinating longer infuses more flavor. Avoid overcrowding skewers for even cooking.
