  • 1 pound chicken sausage
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup almond flour or breadcrumbs Almond flour is gluten-free
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste none Salt and pepper
  • 1 large egg

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, almond flour (or breadcrumbs), chopped green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Crack the egg into the mixture and mix until everything is fully incorporated.
  4. Take about 2 tablespoons of the mixture and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet with some space between each.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a minute before serving. Pair with your choice of dipping sauce if desired.

Notes

For a spicier kick, try using spicy chicken sausage. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a 350°F oven for 15-20 minutes.
