Method
Preparation
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick.
- Use a round cutter to cut out circles of dough, approximately 6 inches in diameter.
Make the Filling
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese.
- Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste, if desired.
Assembly
- Place a few tablespoons of the filling in the center of each dough circle, leaving space around the edges.
- Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges tightly together, and crimp with a fork.
Cooking
- Brush the tops of the calzones lightly with olive oil.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the calzones in the basket in a single layer.
- Cook for about 12-15 minutes or until golden and crisp.
- Let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with extra Alfredo sauce for dipping!
Notes
For perfect dough, let store-bought pizza dough sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before rolling. Keep an eye on your calzones while cooking as air fryers can vary in heat.
