  • 1 cup Alfredo sauce Store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • as needed Olive oil For brushing the calzones.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, optional
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick.
  2. Use a round cutter to cut out circles of dough, approximately 6 inches in diameter.
Make the Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese.
  2. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste, if desired.
Assembly
  1. Place a few tablespoons of the filling in the center of each dough circle, leaving space around the edges.
  2. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges tightly together, and crimp with a fork.
Cooking
  1. Brush the tops of the calzones lightly with olive oil.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the calzones in the basket in a single layer.
  3. Cook for about 12-15 minutes or until golden and crisp.
  4. Let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with extra Alfredo sauce for dipping!

Notes

For perfect dough, let store-bought pizza dough sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before rolling. Keep an eye on your calzones while cooking as air fryers can vary in heat.
