Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a larger bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, blending until just combined.
- Roll the dough into balls about 1 inch in diameter and roll each ball in sugar until fully coated.
Baking
- Place the coated balls on ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden but centers remain soft.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes for chewier cookies. Use parchment paper on baking sheets to prevent sticking.
