Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  6. Fold in the maple syrup until the dough is thick and slightly sticky.
  7. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers look set.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
