Ingredients

Brownie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped cherries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter completely and then remove it from heat.
  3. Stir in the granulated sugar into the melted butter until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Add the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped cherries and chocolate chips, ensuring even distribution.
Baking
  1. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  2. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick—moist crumbs should cling but not wet batter.
  3. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes. Cut them into squares.

Notes

Use fresh cherries whenever possible. If using frozen cherries, thaw and drain excess moisture. Don't overmix the batter for the best chewy texture.
