For the crust
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
For the filling
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cherries, pitted and halved Fresh cherries are ideal.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter until well combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish to create a firm crust.
  2. In a separate mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the sour cream mixture until fully integrated, being careful to keep it fluffy.
  4. Spread half of the cream mixture over the graham cracker crust. Evenly distribute the halved cherries over the cream layer, followed by the remaining cream mixture.
  5. Cover the pie dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to allow flavors to meld and the dessert to set properly.
  6. Once chilled, slice and serve your Cherries in the Snow, possibly with some extra whipped topping.
