Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well incorporated.
- Roll the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, yielding 12-15 meatballs.
Cooking
- Brown the meatballs in a non-stick skillet over medium heat on all sides.
- In a prepared baking dish, pour a layer of spaghetti sauce at the bottom. Place the browned meatballs over the sauce and pour the remaining sauce over them, finishing with a layer of shredded cheese.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 20 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
Notes
For meat alternatives, consider using ground chicken or turkey. Customize toppings with fresh herbs like basil or parsley. To prevent dry meatballs, ensure the mixture is moist with the right amount of breadcrumbs and egg.
