Ingredients

Meatball Mixture
  • 1 pound ground beef (or any other preferred ground meat) Use ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt to taste salt and pepper
Cooking
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (such as Gruyère or mozzarella) Feel free to blend different types of cheese.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a lined baking sheet.
Cooking
  1. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned on the outside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add some olive oil and carefully place the meatballs in the pan. Pour the beef broth over the meatballs and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the meatballs and cover the skillet. Allow the cheese to melt for a few minutes.
  4. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with crusty bread or over noodles for a complete meal.

Notes

If you're lucky enough to have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply place the meatballs in a skillet over low heat until warmed through, or you can pop them in the microwave for a quick meal. Just be sure to add a splash of broth if they seem dry.
