Ingredients

Filling Ingredients
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 cup diced jalapeños optional, for a spicy kick
Dough and Toppings
  • 1 package refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 large egg, beaten for egg wash
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, jalapeños (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  3. On a floured surface, roll out the refrigerated biscuit dough into rounds, making them slightly larger for easier filling.
Assembling
  1. Place a generous spoonful of the chicken mixture in the center of each dough round. Fold the dough over and pinch the edges to seal securely.
  2. Place the sealed buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish while baking.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
Serving
  1. Allow the buns to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm for the best experience!

Notes

For a healthier option, use rotisserie chicken or low-fat cream cheese. Ensure the chicken is pre-cooked before mixing. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month. For reheating, bake at 350°F for 10-15 min or microwave for 30-40 seconds.
