Preparation
- In a large skillet, over medium heat, add the ground beef. Brown it, breaking it up into small pieces as you go (about 5-7 minutes).
- Once the beef is cooked through, drain any excess fat. Add the taco seasoning and a splash of water (about 1/4 cup). Stir well to combine and simmer for another 5 minutes until the flavors meld.
- While the beef is simmering, warm your tortillas. You can do this in a separate dry skillet over low heat or wrap them in foil and warm them in the oven.
Assembly
- To construct your tacos, take a warm tortilla and spoon in a generous amount of the seasoned beef. Sprinkle a handful of shredded cheese on top while the beef is still hot so it melts beautifully.
- Top with diced tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and avocado slices. Feel free to add sour cream, jalapeƱos, or salsa for an extra kick if desired!
- Serve the tacos immediately with your favorite sides or sauces!
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Adjust taco seasoning to your heat preference. Don't overfill tortillas to keep everything intact. Leftovers can be stored in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
