Ingredients
  

For the Quiche
  • 1 pie crust 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup 1 cup cheese (cheddar or your choice), shredded Preferably cheddar or your choice of cheese.
  • 1 medium 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 large 3 eggs
  • 1 cup 1 cup milk or cream Can use milk or cream based on preference.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: herbs (such as thyme or parsley) for added flavor Add fresh herbs as a topping before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out your pie crust if using homemade. Place it in a pie dish and make sure it covers the sides.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of oil and thenadd the chopped onion. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until translucent and starting to brown. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
Mixing the Filling
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk or cream. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in the sautéed onions and shredded cheese until well combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the filling mixture into the prepared pie crust. Spread it out evenly, adding any herbs on top.
  2. Place in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is lightly golden.
  3. Allow the quiche to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Feel free to substitute different cheese varieties for unique flavors. Always let the quiche cool before cutting to prevent the filling from spilling out.
