Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed Ensure butter is cold for flaky biscuits.
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ¾ cup milk Use cold milk for best results.
Garnish
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Add cold, cubed butter to the dry mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter in until it resembles coarse cbs.
  4. Gently fold in shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
  5. Pour in cold milk and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Knead gently a few times and pat into about 1-inch thickness.
  7. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds and place on the prepared baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  2. Once baked, brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve warm.

Notes

For the best results, keep ingredients cold. Don't overmix the dough to ensure light and fluffy biscuits. Feel free to experiment with different cheeses or add herbs for extra flavor.
