Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, toss the diced apples with cinnamon and sugar until well coated.
- On a floured surface, roll out each sheet of puff pastry into a rectangle and cut each sheet into four equal squares.
- In the center of each pastry square, place a spoonful of caramel sauce and top it with the apple mixture.
- Fold the pastry squares diagonally to create triangles, pressing the edges to seal securely.
- Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the turnovers.
Baking
- Place the turnovers on a lined baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with additional caramel sauce if desired.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in an oven preheated to 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
