Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 4 cups peeled and sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well) Choose firm apples that hold their shape.
  • ½ cup granulated sugar Used for coating the apples.
  • ½ cup brown sugar Used for coating the apples.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade) To pour over the apples.
For the Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup melted butter Bind the topping ingredients.
  • ½ cup granulated sugar Remaining sugar for topping.
  • ½ cup brown sugar Remaining sugar for topping.
  • 1 cup chopped pecans To sprinkle on top.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with ½ cup of granulated sugar, ½ cup of brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss until the apples are well-coated.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the flour, oats, remaining granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture becomes cbly.
Assembly
  1. In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread the seasoned apples evenly at the bottom. Pour the caramel sauce over the apples.
  2. Sprinkle the cble mixture evenly over the caramel apples, then finish by scattering chopped pecans on top.
Baking
  1. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  2. Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
