Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups diced apples Fresh and crisp apples enhance the flavor
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional) Adds crunch; substitute with favorite nuts

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by lining a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy lifting later.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine granulated sugar, heavy cream, and unsalted butter over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a gentle boil.
  3. Once boiling, reduce heat slightly and continue stirring for about 5 minutes or until the mixture thickens.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in caramel sauce, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  5. Gently fold in the diced apples and optional nuts, ensuring even dispersion throughout the fudge mix.
  6. Quickly pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly with a spatula. Allow it to cool at room temperature for about 2 hours or until set.
  7. Once set, use the parchment paper to lift the fudge out of the pan. Cut into squares and enjoy!
