Preparation
- Slice the ripe cantaloupe in half and scoop out the seeds.
- Use a melon baller or a spoon to scoop the fruit from the rind into a bowl, aiming for about 2 cups of fresh cantaloupe chunks.
Blending
- In a blender, combine the cantaloupe chunks, water, lime juice, and sugar (if using). Blend until smooth, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Serving
- If preferred, strain the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove any pulp.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour in the cantaloupe water, and serve immediately.
- Garnish with mint leaves or a slice of lime for an extra touch.
Notes
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Avoid freezing as it may affect texture. Stir or shake before serving leftovers.
