Ingredients

Brownie Ingredients
  • 1 box cake mix (chocolate or your favorite flavor) Use your preferred flavor.
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil Can substitute with applesauce for a lighter version.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Optional but recommended.
  • 1/2 cup nuts Optional for added crunch.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for optimal brownie texture.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, vegetable oil, and eggs. If adding, fold in chocolate chips or nuts gently.
  3. Prepare an 8x8 inch (or 9x9 inch) baking pan by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it.
  4. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, avoid overmixing the batter to maintain a soft and chewy texture. Store completely cooled brownies in an airtight container. They remain fresh at room temperature for 3 days or in the fridge for up to a week. To freeze, wrap individual brownies in plastic wrap and store in a freezer bag for up to 2 months. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.
