Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for optimal brownie texture.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, vegetable oil, and eggs. If adding, fold in chocolate chips or nuts gently.
- Prepare an 8x8 inch (or 9x9 inch) baking pan by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
For best results, avoid overmixing the batter to maintain a soft and chewy texture. Store completely cooled brownies in an airtight container. They remain fresh at room temperature for 3 days or in the fridge for up to a week. To freeze, wrap individual brownies in plastic wrap and store in a freezer bag for up to 2 months. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.
