Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 4 pieces chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on recommended)
  • 1 cup buttermilk For marinating the chicken
For the Coating
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • as needed spray Cooking spray or oil for greasing To prevent sticking

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, add chicken thighs and pour buttermilk over them. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to a few hours for maximum tenderness.
  2. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Coating and Baking
  1. Remove chicken thighs from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge them in the seasoned flour mixture, coating them evenly on all sides.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray. Place coated chicken thighs on the sheet.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
Serving
  1. Let the chicken cool for a few minutes, then serve hot.

Notes

For perfect results, do not skip the marination step and feel free to adjust seasonings to your taste.
