Ingredients

For the casserole
  • 2 cans refrigerated biscuit dough (make sure they are Halal-certified)
  • 1 cup marinara or pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices (Halal)
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers (optional) Add for extra flavor and texture.
  • 1 small onion, diced (optional) Can be omitted if not preferred.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Open both cans of biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters. Place the dough pieces into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the marinara or pizza sauce, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, diced bell peppers, diced onion, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix well until all pieces are coated in the sauce and seasonings.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly to ensure the dough is well-distributed.
  5. Scatter the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and the Halal pepperoni slices evenly over the top.
  6. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuit dough is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
  7. Allow the casserole to cool for about 5 minutes before serving. Scoop out portions and enjoy!
