Batter Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sugar Feel free to adjust the quantity
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Can be substituted with coconut oil or plant-based butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional) For extra gooeyness

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, flour, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and frothy.
  4. Gradually fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. If using, fold in the chocolate chips into the batter.
  6. Grease a tart pan or muffin tin lightly.
  7. Pour the brownie batter into prepared pan(s), filling them about three-quarters full.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Let the tarts cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds for a warm treat.
