Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, flour, and salt until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and frothy.
- Gradually fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- If using, fold in the chocolate chips into the batter.
- Grease a tart pan or muffin tin lightly.
- Pour the brownie batter into prepared pan(s), filling them about three-quarters full.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the tarts cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds for a warm treat.
