Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, stirring constantly until it turns golden brown and gives off a nutty aroma. Remove from heat.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine brown sugar and granulated sugar. Add the brown butter and mix well.
- Add in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
Baking
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For an extra touch, sprinkle with flaky sea salt before baking or drizzle with caramel after cooling.
