Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 4 cups sliced apples (about 4 medium apples, peeled and cored) Use a mixture of sweet and tart apples like Fuji and Granny Smith for the best flavor.
For the Crumble Topping
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar Divided
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed Make sure your butter is cold for a crunchy topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss the sliced apples with half of the brown sugar and the cinnamon. Let it sit while you prepare the crumble.
  3. In another bowl, combine the oats, remaining brown sugar, and flour. Cut in the cold butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Assembly and Baking
  1. Grease a baking dish and pour the apple mixture into the bottom.
  2. Evenly sprinkle the crumble on top of the apples.
  3. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
  4. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
  5. Optionally serve with a side of yogurt or a drizzle of honey.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 10-15 minutes.
