Preparation
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the bow tie pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Layering
- In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom.
- Add a layer of cooked bow tie pasta, followed by half of the ricotta filling.
- Next, add a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Continue with more marinara, bow tie pasta, ricotta, and finish with the remaining marinara and a sprinkle of Parmesan on top.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
Serving
- Allow the lasagna to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
Notes
You can substitute ground chicken or beef for cheese for a protein boost. Be sure not to overstuff the layers to avoid overflow during baking. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
