Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef Use lean ground beef for less grease.
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced Ensure it’s halal.
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 medium bell pepper, diced Any color bell pepper will work.
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables (like corn, carrots, and peas) Contributes to the overall texture.
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes (14 oz each)
Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Oil for cooking Any cooking oil will do.

Method

Preparation
  1. Dice the onion and bell pepper, slice the smoked sausage, and gather your mixed vegetables.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the Blackstone by applying oil to the griddle and heating it to medium-high.
  2. Add the ground beef to the griddle and cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart until no longer pink.
  3. Stir in the sliced smoked sausage, diced onion, and bell pepper, and let them sweat for another 5-6 minutes.
  4. Toss in the frozen mixed vegetables and continue to cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Pour in the diced tomatoes (with juices), add the garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let everything simmer for about 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and serve hot.

Notes

For substitutions, try using turkey or chicken instead of beef for a lighter option, or plant-based sausage for a vegetarian alternative. To prevent overcrowding, cook in batches if necessary.
