Ingredients

Filling
  • 6 cups sliced apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or a mix) Aim for uniform thickness for even cooking.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour Can substitute with a gluten-free mixture.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Helps prevent apples from browning.
  • 1 tablespoon butter Dot over the apple filling.
  • 2 pieces pie crusts (store-bought or homemade) Pre-made crust is acceptable.

Method

Preparation
  1. Peel, core, and slice your apples, ensuring uniform thickness for even cooking. Place the sliced apples in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate small bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add this mixture to the sliced apples and toss gently until well coated.
  3. Squeeze the lemon juice over the apple mixture.
Assembly
  1. Roll out one of the pie crusts and place it on the prepared Blackstone griddle. Fill it with the apple mixture, distributing evenly.
  2. Dot the apple filling with small pieces of butter, then roll out the second crust and place it over the top, crimping the edges to seal.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your Blackstone griddle to medium heat. Cook the pie covered for about 30 minutes, monitoring carefully to prevent burning.
Serving
  1. Once golden and bubbly, remove the pie and let it cool. Serve slices warm to enjoy its full flavor.

Notes

Can be topped with vanilla halal-friendly ice cream or warm caramel sauce. Watch cooking time closely to prevent over-browning.
