Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 500 grams 500 grams chicken breast, boneless and skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 teaspoons 2 teaspoons black pepper Adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 cloves 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For frying
  • 2 pieces 2 green onions, chopped For garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by placing the chicken pieces in a bowl. Add soy sauce, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure each piece is coated. Let it marinate for at least 15-20 minutes.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Cooking
  1. Add the marinated chicken pieces to the hot skillet. Spread them out in a single layer for even cooking. Allow the chicken to sear undisturbed for about 4-5 minutes or until it becomes golden brown.
  2. Once one side is browned, flip the chicken pieces and continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally to make sure all sides are cooked through.
  3. Once the chicken is cooked, taste it and adjust the seasoning with extra pepper or salt if necessary.
  4. Remove from heat, plate the chicken, and top it with freshly chopped green onions.

Notes

To store, let the chicken cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container. It can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or frozen for up to 3 months. When ready to enjoy, thaw and reheat in a skillet or microwave.
