Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture and stir until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
- Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop small mounds of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet, leaving space for them to spread.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or in the refrigerator for up to a week. Reheat in the microwave for 15-20 seconds to restore gooey texture.
