Ingredients

For the casserole
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits Any brand works well.
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage (Halal variety) Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken sausage.
  • 2 cups milk Use whole or low-fat milk.
  • 4 large eggs Beaten.
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice) Feel free to use your favorite cheese.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust according to preference.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the Halal breakfast sausage until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly. Allow this mixture to thicken for about 3-4 minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs until well beaten. Gently mix the eggs into the sausage and gravy mixture.
  5. Cut the refrigerated biscuits into quarters and layer them in a greased baking dish. Pour the sausage and gravy mixture over the biscuits and sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is bubbly and golden brown. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in the oven at 350°F (175°C) or microwave, covering to maintain moisture.
