  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts Optional, for crunch.
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream Optional, for topping.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, melted butter, and brown sugar until crumbly. Press into the bottom of a greased 9x9-inch baking dish.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
Layering & Baking
  1. Remove the crust from the oven. While still warm, pour the sweetened condensed milk over the crust.
  2. Sprinkle the chocolate chips and drizzle caramel sauce over the top. Add nuts if using.
  3. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the chocolate is melted and bubbly.
Cooling & Serving
  1. Allow the bars to cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Slice into squares and serve with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

For substitutes, use white or dark chocolate chips. Allow enough time for cooling and setting for best texture. Don't overload toppings to prevent mess.
