  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add softened butter, milk, and eggs to the dry ingredients; mix until combined. Stir in the vanilla extract until the batter is smooth.
  4. Gently fold in the sliced strawberries until evenly distributed.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Optional: Once cooled, frost the cake with whipped cream if desired.
