Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Cream them together using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and mix until well incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Use a cookie scoop or a spoon to drop generous balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Enjoy your cookies with a glass of milk or share with family and friends!
Notes
Chill the dough for about 30 minutes for a thicker cookie and don't overbake; they will continue to cook on the baking sheet.
