- Wash the berries gently under cool water. Slice the larger strawberries into halves or quarters and set aside to drain.
- Cut your sponge cake or ladyfingers into pieces that will fit your serving dish and place a layer of them at the bottom of your trifle bowl or individual glasses.
- Scoop half of the vanilla pudding over the cake layer and spread it evenly with the back of a spoon.
- Layer half of your mixed berries over the pudding, sprinkling a few for added decoration.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining sponge cake, vanilla pudding, and mixed berries.
- Top with a generous heap of whipped cream, piping it on for a fancy touch or dolloping it on as you prefer.
- Garnish with mint leaves on top for a pop of color.
- Refrigerate your Berry Trifle for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
For ultimate freshness, assemble the trifle shortly before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Avoid freezing.
