Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 lbs beef tips (sirloin or tenderloin, cubed) Choose a good cut for maximum tenderness.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups beef broth Can be used for marinating as well.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for thickening) Add more if needed for desired thickness.
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • to taste salt and pepper Adjust to personal preference.

Method

Cooking
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the beef tips, seasoned with salt and pepper. Brown them on all sides for about 5 minutes.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low and add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for another 3 minutes until the onions are translucent.
  3. Sprinkle the flour over the beef and vegetables. Stir well to combine, and let it cook for about 2 minutes. Gradually add beef broth while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  4. Add the Worcestershire sauce and adjust the seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low. Cover and cook for 15 minutes, allowing the gravy to thicken.
  5. Once the gravy has thickened, spoon the beef tips and gravy over a bed of mashed potatoes or rice. Garnish with fresh parsley.
