Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the beef sausage over medium heat until browned. Add in diced onions and bell peppers, sautéing for about 5 minutes until they soften. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in the beef pepperoni and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.
Assembly
- Place the pie crust in a pie dish. Pour in the sausage and pepperoni mixture, spreading evenly. Top with shredded cheese.
- If you have a second pie crust, place it over the assembled filling. Cut slits in the top for steam to escape. If you’re using the same crust to fold over, pinch the edges to seal.
- In a small bowl, beat the egg. Brush the egg over the crust for a beautifully golden finish.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes or until the crust is golden-brown and crisp.
- Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For substitutions, feel free to switch out the beef sausage with turkey or chicken sausage. Keep an eye on the pie during the last few minutes of baking to avoid burning the crust. Avoid overfilling the pie to prevent an overflowing mess.
