  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or your choice) Cooked al dente
  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground chicken or turkey
  • 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped Sauté until translucent
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Sauté until fragrant
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust to taste
  • to taste oz Grated Parmesan cheese (optional) For serving

Preparation
  1. Boil water in a large pot, add a pinch of salt, and cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until the beef is no longer pink and browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and Italian seasoning. Bring the mixture to a simmer, allowing the flavors to meld for about 10 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, stirring well to coat the pasta evenly. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Notes
