Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 cup diced vegetables (bell peppers, onions, zucchini) Use a mix of your favorite diced vegetables.
  • 1 packet taco seasoning Add adjust seasoning according to taste.
  • 8 pieces taco shells Use hard or soft shells as preferred.
Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce For a fresh crunch.
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes Use fresh for best flavor.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Preferably Halal.
  • 1/2 cup sour cream For creamy texture.
  • 1/2 cup salsa Zesty for added flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by washing and chopping your vegetables. Dice your bell peppers, onions, and zucchini into small, bite-sized pieces.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned completely, breaking it apart with a spoon. This should take about 5–7 minutes.
  2. Once the beef is cooked, stir in the diced vegetables and cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing them to soften and mingle with the beef.
  3. Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the beef and vegetables. Add a splash of water (about ¼ cup) to help distribute the seasoning evenly. Stir well and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes.
  4. While the beef mixture is simmering, place your taco shells in the oven according to package instructions or warm them up in a skillet for a few seconds to make them extra crispy.
Assembly
  1. Once everything is ready, take your taco shell and fill it with the beef-vegetable mixture. Top with shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and salsa.
Serving
  1. Dig into your flavorful creation and enjoy them with your loved ones!

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. Ensure not to overcook the beef to keep it tender. Store leftover beef and vegetable mixture in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
