Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound beef (sliced thinly) Use halal-friendly beef to meet dietary needs.
  • 2 pieces bell peppers (sliced)
  • 1 piece onion (sliced)
  • 2 cups cooked rice
Flavorings
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic (minced)
  • to taste Salt and pepper
Garnish
  • to taste Green onions (for garnish)

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by slicing your beef, bell peppers, and onion. Ensure they are all ready to go for a smooth cooking process.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Once hot, add the thinly sliced beef. Season with salt and pepper and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Toss in the sliced onion and bell peppers. Stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and slightly crisp.
  3. Return the beef to the skillet, then add the minced garlic and soy sauce. Mix everything together, cooking for another 2 minutes for the flavors to meld.
  4. Spoon the beef and vegetable mix over the cooked rice in individual bowls. Garnish with sliced green onions for a fresh touch.

Notes

You can easily swap the beef for chicken or turkey if you prefer a different protein while keeping the dish halal. Avoid overcrowding the pan when cooking the beef to ensure even browning. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
