Method
Preparation
- Start by slicing the sirloin or flank steak thinly against the grain to ensure tenderness.
Making the Sauce
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water until well combined.
Cooking the Beef
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the sliced beef to the pan and stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes, or until it’s browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.
Cooking the Broccoli
- In the same pan, add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
Combine and Sauce It Up
- Return the beef to the pan, then pour in the sauce. Stir everything together until well mixed and heated through, about another 2 minutes.
Serve
- Serve your Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry over a bed of fluffy cooked rice, and enjoy!
Notes
For variations, consider using chicken, tofu, or a mix of vegetables. For best results, prepare ingredients beforehand and keep an eye on the broccoli to maintain its crispness. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat with a splash of water to retain moisture.
